Meet Jenerica Robinson

Jenerica Robinson, Engineer, CenterPoint Energy - South Texas Region 

Jenerica Robinson is a graduate of Sam Houston High School where she finished in the top 10 percent of her class. She received her bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from Prairie View A&M University. While attending Prairie View, she was inducted into the engineering honor society, Tau Beta Pi, as well as the Prairie View A&M Honor Society. She is an engineer for the South Texas region of CenterPoint Energy, a nationally recognized utility company specializing in natural gas distribution and pipeline integrity. 

Robinson is also the proud third great-granddaughter of Hiram Wilson, who in 1869 established  H. Wilson & Company, the first African-American owned company in Texas. 

Robinson understands the need to mentor other aspiring engineers. That is why she volunteers to tutor and teach algebra. She also facilitates a math intervention workshop to help students relate math to real-world applications as well as to address the continuous question, “Why do I need math?”  She also is committed to helping increase the talent pool in the Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (S.T.E.M) field by teaching algebra to students at the School of Excellence in Education. 

Other voluntary commitments include serving as the San Antonio chair for the Society of Women Engineers for the Southwest region where she is seeking to establish a Society of Women Engineers Chapter in San Antonio. She is also a member of the Midwest Energy Association and serves as vice president of the Ministers and Deacons Wives ministry at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church. 

Robinson enjoys creating unique home interior designs, painting, and was even a hair style model featured in various magazines. She loves vacationing and traveling around the world with her family. On a recent trip, she Zip Lined in the jungles of Jamaica, Jet Ski raced in the beautiful waters of Cozumel, Mexico, and snorkeled off the coast of the Grand Cayman Islands along with her family.  She enjoys adventure and is always looking for new opportunities to continue learning and expanding her horizons. 

She is married to Dwayne Robinson. The two have  three children - Brandi, Janathan, and Jai. They also have one grandson, Aidan. The Robinson family are proud members of Antioch Missionary Baptist Church.
