High School Completion Initiative
The Area Foundation is helping to increase high school graduation rates through our High School Completion Initiative.
Launched in 2011, the High School Completion Initiative is a targeted grant making effort designed to invest in nonprofit organizations providing out-of-school time programs to Bexar County students in third through ninth grades. In addition to grant funding, we provide leadership and resources, bringing people together for innovative and high-impact solutions.
Supporting nonprofits with grants
Since inception, $3.3 million has been awarded to 39 nonprofits that provide out-of-school time programs to Bexar County students in sixth through ninth grades. Nonprofits can apply for a high school completion grant from the Area Foundation.
