Impact & OutreachCommunity Initiatives:
Addressing Community Needs As a leader in community philanthropy for over 45 years, the San Antonio Area Foundation strives to proactively identify issues or needs in the community and provide financial and leadership resources to address them. Through the TRIAD Fund andAnimal No Killcommunity initiatives, the Area Foundation has helped build unique collaborations between diverse groups in order to facilitate change and create common agendas for a better future. Community Outreach:
Improving Community Engagement
Wide-spread community involvement and support – the common goals for each of the San Antonio Area Foundation’s new community outreach programs. Launched in February 2008, the South Texas Hispanic Fund's mission is to make a difference in San Antonio and South Texas by expanding Hispanic participation in charitable giving. By focusing on this community’s unique challenges, the South Texas Hispanic Fund can build bridges for effective solutions.
In 2009, the Area Foundation plans to launch two more community outreach programs – the San Antonio Area African American Community Fund and the Women’s and Girl’s Development Fund. Targeting an array of diverse needs, these funds will also encourage philanthropy and raise critically needed dollars for community programs. Partnerships:
Supporting Organizations and Affiliates By partnering with the San Antonio Area Foundation, private foundations, nonprofit organizations, and small community funds can better focus their public outreach efforts and strengthen their philanthropic vision.
