The First Step to No Kill is No BirthSpay/Neuter Spaying and neutering is the cornerstone of a successful lifesaving effort. It addresses the “supply side” of the No Kill Equation. Low cost, high volume spay/neuter will lead to fewer animals entering the shelter system, allowing more resources to be allocated toward saving lives. The San Antonio Area Foundation's animal initiative donors and volunteers are dedicated to the spay/neuter objective. To support this effort, the Area Foundation recently awarded $429,000 to nonprofit agencies offering low-cost spay/neuter services in Bexar County and the surrounding area.
