Join us as we learn how to find new donors in an ever-changing society.


As development staff, we spend a lot of time on donor retention, but what do we do if an organization doesn’t have any donors yet or the organization needs to expand its donor base for continued growth and expansion? Join us for an interactive session on how to attract new donors in a multi-sensory society where donors are being pulled in every direction.  

Learning Objectives: 
At the conclusion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the ABC’s of Prospecting
  • Define the ideal donor for their organization
  • Integrate at least two online giving techniques designed to attract new eyes and possibly dollars
  • Integrate at least 2 new strategies for attracting new donors

Who should take this class?
Development professionals new to the development field, annual giving officers or fundraising staff seeking to broaden their donor base with recognition that there is no easy fix to acquiring new donors.

This workshop is included in the Nonprofit Management Certification series and fulfills three hours in the Fundraising competency area.

Meet our Presenter: 

Carrie Gray brings 26 years of experience in the areas of resource development, strategy, budgeting, organizational development, community partnerships, communications and creating highly effective teams.  Carrie has led both small and large teams focused on resource development, donor services, marketing & communications, advocacy and volunteer services. She implemented a three year $25 million multi-faceted campaign for an organization with an annual operating budget of  $35 million. Carrie’s most recent position was at the San Antonio Area Foundation as Vice President of Development and Donor Services where she was responsible for leading a 10-person team focused on the engagement of donors, endowment planning with nonprofits and communications. She created the initial communications plan for the planned gift of John L. Santikos. She has also worked for the North Carolina Community Foundation in whichshe worked with donors in achieving their philanthropic objectives as well as working with partners across the state to develop and implement inclusive philanthropy strategies.

If the registrant is not able to attend the workshop and/or class, a substitute may be sent. If a workshop and/or class has been unexpectedly cancelled and/or postponed by the Area Foundation, a refund or credit towards another workshop and/or class will be issued. No refunds or credits will be given for cancellations received less than 48 hours before a workshop.
