A:  The San Antonio Area Foundation has one grant making cycle per year. An organization may submit one application, except institutions of higher education or organization serving as a fiscal agent for a proposal from a partnership or collaboration.                Institutions of higher education may submit multiple applications. Those institutions submitting multiple applications may not submit the same application in more than one category. An organization serving as the fiscal agent for a proposal from a partnership or collaboration may also submit an application for its own program or project. Each of these applicants must demonstrate that the organizations involved have a history of partnering or collaborating with one another. Q: When is the next grant deadline? A:  The deadline for the San Antonio Area Foundation’s 2008 grant applications was November 15, 2007.     Q: When are grants awarded? A:  Grants for those applications submitted in November will be awarded in early June 2008. Q: Is there a minimum or maximum amount of funding I can request in my application? A:  There is no minimum or maximum amount that can be requested. Applicants should keep in mind that the entire funding pool for 2007 was approximately $2,000,000. Click here to see a complete list of the grants that were awarded in 2007.   Q: Why do you need a grantee’s financial statements in order to award a grant? A:  Board and staff of the San Antonio Area Foundation serve as stewards of our generous donors’ funds and, therefore, must have confidence that the investments we make in organizations are sound. We review Financial Statements and the 990 Summary Report (submitted with the grant application) to determine the financial stability of each organization.   Q: What if I submitted my application on-line with out the attachments? A:  If you have completed the required forms and submitted your application on-line without your attachments, we ask that you do not re-submit the application in order to submit attachments.
