General Application Process | Important Dates | Conflict of Interest Statement
The Area Foundation accepts applications for grants on an annual basis. Those eligible to submit applications include nonprofit organizations exempt from federal income tax under section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code, schools, churches or governmental bodies that serve Bexar and surrounding counties.
The deadline for the 2008 application is November 15, 2007. The links below provide general information about our process.

Deadline for submitting the community evaluation form for your 2007 Grant Award, including an expense report. If the Area Foundation does not receive the evaluation postmarked by January 25, 2008, your organization will not be eligible to receive a discretionary grant in 2008. |

Grant Award Date
All projects being evaluated are for the 2008-2009 grant period beginning June 1, 2008. The Area Foundation does not make multiple year grants or commit to continued funding. |

The San Antonio Area Foundation continues to be conscious of the possible conflict of interest which may arise as the result of staff, Board members or Committee members being on the Board of applicant organizations or intimately connected with applicants for grants or scholarships. Any duality or possible financial or emotional conflict of interest on the part of any member of the Board or Committees shall be disclosed to the other Directors and Committee members and made a matter of record through an annual procedure. No member of the staff, Board or Committees shall evaluate or vote on any matter in which he/she has a possible financial or emotional conflict of interest, and he/she shall not use personal influence in connection herewith.
